Cody’s father has Ghana ancestry and was born in Togo while his mother is Dutch but he grew up in the Netherlands.
He graduated from PSV academy and was an instant hit in the 2021-22 season winning the Dutch player of the Year, scoring 21 goals in 47 games.
Gakpo scored three goals at the 2022 World Cup for the Netherlands in December and was signed by Liverpool in January during the winter window.
And at the end of last season’s campaign the striker scored seven goals in 21 appearances in all competitions.
