Liverpool are reportedly planning to make a shock move for Man City's Kalvin Phillips, taking advantage of his lack of playing time under Pep Guardiola.
Phillips on the move?
Phillips has been frozen out this season, after arriving from Leeds United last summer and now Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is believed to be keen on his services as he looks to strengthen a rapidly declining midfield.
Liverpool to add Phillips to new-look midfield
According to Mirror Football, Liverpool will be willing to pay up to £35m to take Phillips away from the Etihad where it just has not worked out for him.
Phillips would relish a chance to get his career back on track after suffering a number of injuries and returning from the World Cup break overweight, according to Guardiola.
The former Leeds midfielder is yet to start in the Premier League for the champions and did not feature in their 3-0 victory over Sheffield United at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday, despite the absence of Rodri.
