Liverpool have made a formal appeal to the FA regarding the red card given to Alexis Mac Allister against Bournemouth last weekend.

Klopp's side got their first win of the season after playing a 1-1 draw against Chelsea in their first Premier League match.

The Reds secured a comfortable 3-1 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday despite having their new signing Alexis Mac Allister sent off in the second half.

The Liverpool player is expected to miss the Reds next three games but the club have appealed the red card of the Argentine.

Liverpool looking to reduce Mac Allister’s ban

Liverpool are hoping Mac Allister's ban will be reduced by the FA after the club appealed his red card.

During the game against Bournemouth, Liverpool's new signing Alexis Mac Allister got sent off for a dangerous foul.

The Reds were in action against Bournemouth and the away side hit first in the 3rd minute of the game from Antoine Semenyo.

However, Liverpool got back on track, thanks to goals from Luis Diaz, Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota.

Liverpool had a man sent off in the early minutes of the second half when Alexis Mac Allister made a dangerous foul on a Bournemouth player.

The referee did not hesitate to send off the Argentine and reduced the Reds to ten men but still went on to secure a win.

Liverpool have, however, appealed the red card and are awaiting a response from the FA regarding their appeal.
