Lille defender Leny Yoro has reportedly rejected Real Madrid and agreed to join Manchester United in a deal worth around £52m.

Manchester United had an initial offer of £52m accepted by Lille last week, and Yoro has now opted to join the club despite strong interest from Real Madrid.

His original preference was to join Real Madrid but they have so far shown no indication of paying the price that United and Lille settled on.

Yoro's arrival is set to become United's second signing of the summer, following the £36.5m capture of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna.

The deal will take the club's total spending to £95.2m, with further additions expected as the club looks to offload several squad members.

The Red Devils are undergoing a significant overhaul of their defense, with Yoro's signing part of a broader plan to bring in up to three new center-backs.

The club has already verbally agreed to personal terms with Bayern Munich's Matthijs de Ligt and has seen two bids rejected by Everton for Jarrad Branthwaite.

Manager Erik ten Hag now has five center-back options at his disposal, including Jonny Evans, who recently signed a new one-year contract.

However, Lisandro Martinez is unlikely to feature in United's pre-season schedule due to his international commitments with Argentina at the Copa America.
