At the 18-minute mark, chants of "Greenwood, die" erupted from a section of the home supporters, prompting the referee to take immediate action.
The stadium’s public address system warned the fans against making such comments, emphasizing the severity of the situation. Although the chanting subsided, the atmosphere remained tense, with Getafe's coaching staff visibly disturbed by the incident.
Getafe consider options after Greenwood chants
Getafe has not yet decided whether to file an official complaint to La Liga against Alaves’ fans, but if they do, Alaves could face an investigation into the behavior of their supporters.
