La Liga and FUNDACION LALIGA have launched a project in Kenya that will provide scholarships and football training to empower girls in Kibera.
After a significant commitment to gender equality and social empowerment in Cameroon, La Liga has turned its attention to Kenya by launching an ambitious project in Kibera Slums, Nairobi.
The initiative, dubbed La Ligue D' Egalite - Kenya was unveiled at the ParkInn Hotel in Nairobi marking a new chapter in La Liga’s efforts to foster positive change through sport.
At the heart of this project are 22 scholarships a beacon of hope for many young girls living in challenging conditions.

The new brand represents the evolution that LALIGA has undergone over the last 10 years, becoming bigger, more international and reaching more people than ever before.
According to La Liga, the scholarships are designated for each team participating in the newly formed social football league to provide educational opportunities and support for girls who show exceptional commitment and attitude during training and matches.
Olga de la Fuente, Director of La Liga Foundation ( Fundación LaLiga) has emphasized the transformative potential of the initiative.
“The implementation of this social integration project through the values of football means providing real opportunities for personal and sporting growth to many girls in vulnerable situations. We’re profoundly grateful for the chance to contribute our bit to this inspiring project," she stated.

"This project is another example of La Liga, and its Fundacion's, commitment to the region, with the aim of adding value to society and empowering many young people and adults who have football as one of their main passions in life," he said.
"Additionally, the Kibera programme is a continuation of the Ligue D' Egalite project from Cameroon, and we want it to become a standard throughout the African continent in terms of supporting women's football and football development in general."

In addition to the scholarships, the initiative includes a comprehensive sports and education program that will reach over 400 girls.
