The France captain has formally notified PSG, claiming unpaid finances following his free transfer to Real Madrid.

Kylian Mbappe has reportedly issued a formal notice to Paris Saint-Germain asserting that the club owes him a staggering £85 million (Ksh 13.9 billion) following his departure.

This claim arises despite his move to Real Madrid on a free transfer at the season's end after allowing his contract with the Parisian club to expire.

Despite parting ways amicably with PSG where his football career reached elite status the French captain is yet to receive a portion of his bonus and wages as stipulated in an agreement from last summer.

Under the terms of this agreement, Mbappe would forgo certain bonuses and salary components should he exit the club on a free transfer.

"PSG and the player have both previously publicly stated there is an agreement in place that respects the huge investment the club have put into Mbappe’s development since he joined in a £166m (Ksh 27.1 billion) transfer from Monaco in 2017," reported L'Equipe.

As the dispute unfolds, it has been revealed that negotiations over the final settlement figure between Mbappe and PSG who reached the semi-finals of this season's Champions League are advancing positively.

"It has now been reported in the French media that PSG owe the player close to £85m (Ksh 13.9 billion) in unpaid wages and a bonus payment relating to his time at the Ligue 1 club," the Daily Mail highlighted.

Simultaneously Mbappe is adapting to life in Madrid having reportedly purchased a £15m (Ksh 2.4 billion) luxury mansion in the city.

If France triumphs in the ongoing European Championship, the prolific striker is expected to receive an extended break from his pre-season responsibilities with Real Madrid.

The star's campaign has been marked by significant events, including a broken nose sustained during France's Euro 2024 opener against Austria.

Following this injury, Mbappe was benched for the subsequent goalless draw against the Netherlands, adding to his challenging season.

This financial contention with PSG marks another chapter in what has been an eventful period for Mbappe illustrating the complexities and financial dynamics at play in the world of elite football.
