St. Mary's Kitende recorded their biggest win in the USSSA championships on Wednesday.

St. Mary's Boarding School Kitende once again showed the zeal and hunger for more success by walloping Bishop Angelo Negri College 6-0 to progress to the quarterfinals of the 2023 USSSA National Schools Championship.

Kitende were knocked out of their comfort zone by St. Henry’s Kitovu who beat them to top Group A.

Those results, especially the 2-1 loss to Kitovu in the penultimate game of the group, might have sent a warning to the ten-time champions to up their game.

The giants responded in style with six different scorers on the day as Hakim Mutebi and Olimi Nyara and Hakim Mutebi continued their scoring form.

The other goals were scored by Habib Oloya, Fred Muhanguzi, Samuel Lukonye and Police FC’s striker Abdul Nsereko.

Kitende is chasing Kibuli’s record of 11 trophies, a fete which could happen if they go all the way this season.

But before they reach there, they have to deal with Standard High School Zana, who dumped out Kawempe Muslim 5-4 in penalties that followed a goalless draw.
