A somber mood has enveloped the Kibra football fraternity following the tragic death of Steven Alade, a key player of Shofco FC. 

Alade, whose life was abruptly cut short in a horrific incident, was shot dead while courageously confronting attackers on Tuesday night. 

The news of his untimely demise has sent shockwaves among his teammates and officials at Shofco FC who are struggling to come to terms with this devastating loss.

Shofco FC, a respected team participating in the Football Kenya Federation Nairobi West Division Two league,and based in Nairobi's Kibera Slums, took to their Facebook page to announce this heartbreaking news.

"Team officials and teammates mourn Steven Alade as a very jovial and social person. He was open to his friends in the team and always willing to learn," the club expressed in a heartfelt tribute. 

The post further highlighted the profound impact of Alade's death, describing it as a loss of a close friend and a shattered future.

In a poignant gesture of remembrance, the team observed a minute of silence to honor Alade's memory. 

The club's message encapsulated the depth of their grief: "May the skies watch over you for us. We are pained. Rest well Alade."

Alade was pronounced dead at the scene, a tragic end to a life full of potential.

Reports confirmed that he suffered three gunshot wounds in the attack.
