Kevin De Bruyne’s future at Manchester City remains uncertain as Pep Guardiola leaves contract decisions to him.

Kevin De Bruyne’s future at Manchester City hangs in the balance as his contract with the Premier League giants ends this summer.

The Belgian has yet to start conversations about a contract extension, leaving fans with questions about De Bruyne’s future.

Speaking about his future at the club, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has distanced himself from the conversations, noting that Kevin De Bruyne remains the sole decision-maker.

Pep Guardiola told Sky Sports that he is focused on other things, including the Club World Cup, FA Cup and the Premier League.

Manchester City are now placed fifth on the Premier League table with 48 points. Liverpool are leaders with 70 points.

"It is between the club and Kevin and his agent. It is between the club and Kevin. In the position that I am in, we are just concerned about the team and finishing the season in the best position possible,” Pep Guardiola said.

"We have to think about the best thing for the club with the FA Cup, the Premier League and the Club World Cup."

Manchester City might offer a two-week contract to Kevin De Bruyne to play at the Club World Cup as they give him room to make a more permanent decision on his future.

According to Manchester Evening News, Kevin De Bruyne explained that his focus is slowly shifting and deciding about his future would be crucial.

"Family is obviously an important factor whatever happens. When you talk to people you have to decide. It's very hard to talk hypothetically because obviously there are things you want as a family, as a person, as a project,” he said.

“But when I don't know anything there's not a lot I can say. I know what the team can give me, there's nothing really new that I can learn. Obviously, we'll see what happens when the conversation starts."

Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne is undeniably one of Manchester City’s best midfielders and has played a huge role in their dominance over the years.

However, the 34-year-old’s form has dropped this season and he was absent from many of City’s games due to an injury.
