Kenyan U-20 midfielder Kevin Wangaya, who currently plies his trade in Albania, has revealed the side he is eyeing a move to heroics with Rising Stars.
Kenyan U-20 midfielder Kevin Wangaya is determined to follow in the footsteps of legendary footballer Victor Wanyama, aiming to leave a lasting legacy in international football.
The young talent aspires to make his mark abroad, particularly in the English Premier League, where he dreams of playing for Manchester United.
A lifelong fan of the Red Devils, Wangaya, who scored four goals and registered two assists during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers, envisions a future where he dons the iconic red jersey and fulfills his childhood dream.
“Everybody has to start somewhere to get anywhere, right? I think I can one day play for Manchester United. That’s my dream club,” Wangaya shared in a recent feature interview with TV47.
However, Manchester United is not his only goal. The young midfielder also has aspirations of playing for Spanish giants Barcelona and Dutch powerhouse Ajax.

'I am super grateful' - Kelvin Wangaya reflects on CECAFA U-20 AFCON qualifying breakthrough for Rising Stars
Wangaya was one of the breakthrough stars at the tournament as Rising Stars sealed qualification to the U-20 AFCON qualifiers.
“I also see myself playing for Barcelona. There is Ajax as well, which has good infrastructure. I used to follow them as a boy. So those three clubs are my dream clubs,” he explained.
As a die-hard United fan, Wangaya modeled his game after former Red Devils midfielder Paul Pogba.
“What motivates me is how I used to watch Pogba when he was at Manchester United. I used to watch him so much, everything, including his highlights,” he said.
Pogba’s creativity, strength, and flair have clearly influenced Wangaya’s style of play, making him a midfield maestro in his own right.
Wangaya’s journey to professional football began at an early age, thanks to the guidance of his father, a footballer who groomed him to excel.
At just eight years old, Wangaya joined Ligi Ndogo, a renowned football academy in Nairobi, where he honed his skills.
“My father motivated me because I started playing against players way older than me at a very young age. I used to wake up very early, and he’d take me to training with him. You’d find the people he’s playing with are older than me. That’s where I started adapting and realized I have this talent,” Wangaya recounted.
Wangaya’s talent has taken him from the Kenyan Premier League, where he represented Kariobangi Sharks, to the international stage with Albanian club FK Apolonia.
