Harambee Stars Abroad: Zak Vyner plays integral role in helping Bristol claim crucial three points, Joseph Okumu's Reims lose to Strasbourg, Jonah Ayunga fluffs his lines for St.Mirren
Several Harambee Stars players were in action in different leagues across Europe over the weekend, and there was plenty to write home about following the outcomes.
In England, Zak Vyner’s hopes of becoming the second Harambee Stars footballer to grace a Premier League pitch were boosted as his efforts helped Bristol City secure a vital 2-1 win over Watford last Saturday.
Vyner, who was called up to the Harambee Stars squad last June but was unable to make an appearance after documentation woes prevented him from acquiring his Kenyan passport, was imperious defensively.
He won two of his three ground duels, four of his five aerial duels, and made four tackles, while also registering a 79 percent pass accuracy.

The visitors barely threatened to get back in the game until substitute Mamadou Doumbia's neat turn and finish gave his side hope with 10 minutes left.

Why Shujaa face World Sevens Series relegation despite reaching cup final in Singapore
Kenya Sevens had an impressive Singapore Sevens leg, where they reached the cup final, but that was not enough as they still stare at the prospect of World Sevens Series relegation.
The hosts stormed into the lead in the second minute when Jordan McGhee sent a cross into the Buddies' box towards Seun Adewumi, with the ball breaking to Simon Murray, who made no mistake, drilling his shot low into the bottom corner for his 20th goal of the season.
The Dark Blues extended their advantage in the 63rd minute – and the goal came courtesy of a howler from Buddies keeper Zach Hemming, who smashed a clearance off Murray, with the striker keeping his cool to fire the ball into the empty net from all of 35 yards.
France: Okumu’s Reims humbled by Strasbourg
Over in France, Joseph Okumu’s Reims were sent crashing back down to earth after losing 1-0 to Strasbourg — just a week after famously dispatching Marseille in ruthless fashion.
Defender Ismaël Doukouré scored his first goal of the season for in-form RC Strasbourg, netting from Sebastian Nanasi's corner in the fourth minute. Reims grew into the match and most of it was fairly even, although Emanuel Emegha hit the post from Dilane Bakwa's low cross in the second half.
A contentious end to the match saw Diego Moreira Jr. and Mory Gbane both sent off, but Liam Rosenior will be more pleased with the result, as Racing now sit fourth ahead of their clash with OGC Nice next weekend.
Serbia: Odada loses to former employers
In Serbia, Richard Odada had to deal with the ignominy of losing to his former employers as OFK Beograd suffered a 3-1 loss to Red Star Belgrade on Sunday.
The Red-Whites have now secured their 36th national league title — and their eighth consecutive one — underscoring the dominance of Vladan Milojević’s team in Serbian football.
They clinched the title mathematically with seven rounds to spare, making it the earliest championship win in the club’s history.
