Bradford City has appointed a new head coach on a contract through the summer of 2026, succeeding Mark Hughes.

Kenya international Clarke Oduor is set to embark on a fresh journey at Bradford City following the appointment of Graham Alexander as the new manager.

The club has confirmed Alexander's arrival on a deal that will see him at the helm until the summer of 2026, taking over the reins at a crucial point in the season.

The 52-year-old former MK Dons manager is no stranger to the managerial circuit, with a resume that boasts of stints at Fleetwood, Scunthorpe, Salford, and Motherwell.

Alexander's experience and leadership come at a time when Bradford City needs a significant turnaround to ascend from their current 16th position in the table.

“It is really good to be here. I am excited about the role, the potential of the team and club,” Alexander expressed enthusiastically on the club website.

The departure of Manchester United legend Mark Hughes left a void at Bradford City, despite his efforts in leading the team to the League Two play-offs last season.

His term was cut short after a disappointing start to the current season, prompting the club to seek a new direction.

Interim player-caretaker Kevin McDonald managed a brief period of success with three consecutive wins, which unfortunately was not sustained.

Speculation around potential replacements, including former Lincoln City and Huddersfield Town boss Danny Cowley, made rounds before family reasons saw him withdraw from consideration.

Graham Alexander's appointment comes after a surprising exit from MK Dons, where his tenure lasted just 16 games into the 2023-24 campaign.

Despite a strong start with the Dons, where he led the team to the top of the League Two table after five league games, a subsequent downturn in performance resulted in his dismissal.

The task at Bradford City is clear for Alexander who will be joined by Chris Lucketti as his assistant.

Together, they face the challenge of revitalizing a team that has struggled to find consistency. The new managerial team is expected to leverage their combined experience to instill a new tactical approach and team spirit.

Clarke Oduor and his teammates are poised to benefit from Alexander's strategic insights and motivational prowess.

As the club looks to climb the league standings, the focus will be on harnessing individual talents like Oduor's and fostering a collective effort that resonates with Alexander's footballing philosophy.
