Benni McCarthy’s team snatched a point from the jaws of defeat in Abidjan following a frantic second half that saw both sides score three goals each with Kenya coming from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 and then again from 3-2 down for 3-3, with their third goal being the last kick of the game.
It is not the result that McCarthy and his team were looking for as they needed maximum points to boost their qualification chances but they will be happy with the fighting spirit ahead of Sunday’s game against Gabon at home.
