Kenya Police will be hoping to get their league season off to a good start following their Confederation Cup exit by exploiting Tusker's defensive lapses as KCB hope to maintain their early momentum against Ulinzi.

The FKF Premier League continues with five crucial matches on Sunday, with fixtures set to take place in Nairobi, Murang’a, and Mumias.

Clubs are eyeing vital points early in the season to shape their campaigns.

Saturday recap: Gor Mahia dominate, Sofapaka falter

Saturday’s action saw three matches completed and one abandoned. Gor Mahia began their season in emphatic fashion, dismantling Mathare United 4-0. The Green Army’s clinical display has left Mathare still searching for their first win of the season. Gor Mahia were relentless from start to finish, demonstrating why they are perennial title contenders.

In another clash, Sofapaka’s struggles continued as they narrowly lost 1-0 to Bandari, with the coastal side taking all three points. Meanwhile, Bidco United were denied victory in dramatic fashion as FC Talanta scored a last-minute equalizer, forcing a 1-1 draw.

A twist came in the match between Shabana FC and Posta Rangers, which was called off due to security concerns. Referees halted the game after determining that the large crowd gathered at Shabana’s home ground posed a security risk. This was meant to be Shabana’s first home match in the Premier League in 18 years, but the day was overshadowed by the safety concerns.

Murang’a Seal v Mara Sugar: Hosts seek redemption

In Murang’a, Murang’a Seal will be hoping to reverse their fortunes when they host Mara Sugar FC. After winning their opening game against Ulinzi Stars, Seal have suffered back-to-back defeats, losing to KCB and Kariobangi Sharks without scoring. Conceding five goals in their last two matches, the pressure is on them to put in a solid defensive performance.

Mara Sugar, meanwhile, have enjoyed a strong start to the season, with two wins from three matches. They will be eager to continue their upward trajectory with another victory, as they look to position themselves as serious contenders in the early stages of the league.

The match kicks off at 3 PM, and Seal’s home advantage could be crucial as they aim to end their losing streak.

KCB seek to maintain winning momentum, Tusker hope to stop defensive bleed against Kenya Police

At the Police Sacco Stadium, a thrilling double-header awaits. League leaders KCB FC take on Ulinzi Stars in the opening match at 1 PM. KCB have been in fine form with two wins and a draw from their first three matches, positioning themselves at the top of the table.

Ulinzi, on the other hand, have only one point from two games and will be eager to turn their season around after a 2-2 draw with Shabana FC last week.

The second match will see Kenya Police FC face Tusker FC at 4 PM. Police FC are making their first appearance in the league this season after their recent exit from the CAF Confederation Cup.

Meanwhile, Tusker will be desperate to regain their composure after throwing away leads in their last two matches. They lost 3-1 to Kariobangi Sharks despite going 2-0 up, and then drew 2-2 with Kakamega Homeboyz after squandering another two-goal advantage.

Police will be looking to capitalize on Tusker’s vulnerabilities, while Tusker will be determined to finally secure a win after a shaky start to the season.

Kariobangi Sharks v Kakamega Homeboyz: Sharks aim to stay undefeated

In Mumias, Kariobangi Sharks will go head-to-head with Kakamega Homeboyz. Sharks have been one of the most impressive teams so far, going unbeaten in their first three matches.

They have netted six goals in their last two games, showing their offensive prowess. On the flip side, Homeboyz are still searching for their first win of the season, having drawn twice and lost once.

With kick-off set for 3 PM, Sharks will aim to keep their unbeaten run going, while Homeboyz will look to secure three points and gain some much-needed momentum.
