Following the exit of South Sudan striker Tito Okello, Kenya Police FC are reportedly set to sign a prominent Senegalese forward.

Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) moneybags Kenya Police FC are poised to bolster their attacking options by signing Senegalese striker Abdou Karim Samb.

According to reliable sources in Dakar, the 28-year-old is en route to Nairobi to finalize the transfer arrangements, including a medical examination.

Samb is set to join the Police squad on a free transfer following his recent departure from Churchill Brothers FC in India.

This acquisition is strategically timed to fill the void left by star striker Tito Okello who recently moved to an undisclosed Indonesian club.

The terms of Samb's contract have sparked discussions with rumors suggesting the deal involves a hefty compensation in millions of shillings.

However, the exact figures remain undisclosed as is typical with FKF Premier League clubs which often maintain a high level of secrecy regarding transfer fees.

"Samb brings a wealth of international experience and a proven track record to our club," stated a source close to the club.

"His agility and scoring ability are exactly what we need to build on our recent successes and go further in the CAF Confederation Cup next season."

Samb's football journey is as impressive as it is international, having left his mark in leagues across Turkey, Beirut, Morocco, Lebanon, and Libya.

Perhaps most notably he led ASC Jaraaf of Senegal to the first division league title in 2016 a season during which he also earned the prestigious Best Player Award.

His stint in the Senegalese top flight was followed by another championship win with Jarraf FC in 2017 further solidifying his reputation as a game-changing player.

Despite a less prolific period in India where he played for Shillong Lajong FC and later Churchill Brothers, Samb managed to score three goals in the I-League.

The departure of Tito Okello, who was Kenya Police's top scorer last season with 20 goals across all competitions, has left big boots to fill.

Okello's outstanding performance included 16 league goals and an additional four in the FKF Cup, playing a crucial role in securing the team's third-place finish in the league and their spot in the upcoming season's CAF Confederation Cup.
