While playing for ADO Den Haag, Omeruo famously became the only player in the Dutch league to score a goal, an own goal, and receive a red card in a match. It was a game against Venlo.

In 2017, Omeruo signed a new three-year contract with Chelsea before returning to Kasimpasa on a season-long loan.
