Iheanacho and his suitors
The 27-year-old was used sparingly last season by erstwhile Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca—who is now at Chelsea—as he only started 10 of the 23 games he managed in the Championship last season. He scored six goals and got three assists in all competitions last season, taking his tally up to 61 goals in 231 games for the Foxes.
The U-17 World Cup champion has been courted by a number of clubs, notably Aston Villa in the Premier League and a few Turkish clubs; however, he has yet to receive an offer on paper.
According to a report from Football Insider, two fresh Premier League clubs have entered contention for Iheanacho’s signature: Nottingham Forest and newly-promoted Ipswich.
Per the report, the interest is seemingly concrete, as both clubs are expected to table a formal contract proposal in days.
