Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho, and Erling Haaland lead the way in the most dangerous strikers in the English top-flight so far this season.
New research has revealed the most prolific Premier League forwards this season, with Erling Haaland to the surprise of absolutely no one, coming out on top.
The study conducted by comparison site JohnSlots analysed the statistics of players who have played more than 500 minutes of football in the Premier League this season to see who had the best ‘minutes per goal contribution’ so far.
Haaland is joined by one Super Eagles star on the list as well as some big names from clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Top 10 sees three Manchester City players dominate the list.
The Top 10 most prolific forward in the Premier League 2022/23 season so far
The research deduced that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is the most prolific forward in the league this season.
Having played a total of 1,868 minutes of league football at the time of the study, the Norwegian striker and City’s summer star signing has netted 26 goals and created 4 assists, at just 62 minutes per goal contribution.
However, coming in second place is Super Eagles of Nigeria and Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
Despite playing a much smaller amount of minutes than other players on the list with 508, the Nigeria international has scored 4 goals and collected 4 assists, meaning he has just 73 minutes per goal contribution in the league.
Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino takes third place on the list, with the Brazilian forward’s injury battles seeing him play a total of 978 minutes this season.
However, in that time, he has managed to score 7 goals and create 3 assists, at just 98 minutes per goal contribution in the league this season.
Fourth place on the list is Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
The England international has racked up a total of 14 goals and 3 assists in 1,882 minutes of football this season, giving him a minutes per contribution of just 111 minutes.
And rounding out the top five is none other than Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who has played more minutes this season than any other player in the top ten with 2,148.
In that time, Kane has scored 17 goals and registered 2 assists, coming in with 113 minutes per goal contribution in the Premier League.
