The KCCA FC board is in a race against time to name the club's next coach, they are talking to a couple, and Pulse Sports can report that a decision could be reached in the coming days.
The club talked to Sam Ssimbwa, who parted ways with the newly promoted Kitara FC over the weekend, and sources reveal that he confirmed his availability.
"They indeed called Ssimbwa, and he told them he was available, but they didn't call only him; they have been talking to several coaches," one of Ssimbwa's close allies told Pulse Sports.

FOOTBALL Who is the next KCCA FC coach?
Abdallah Mubiru, currently at Mbeya City in Tanzania, and Sam Ssimbwa, who has parted ways with Kitara. The jobless Mike Mutebi and Jackson Mayanja, who took charge of the last part of the season after the resignation of Morley Byekwaso.
If KCCA is to settle for their former midfielder, this won't be the first time he takes over charge at Lugogo. Apart from his short stay in 2015, where he worked with Mike Mutebi, Ssimbwa had two more spells at the club.
Ssimbwa coached at KCCA FC in 2002 and 2009 but didn't with them any title.
He won elsewhere, the 1999 Uganda Cup with Mbale heroes, related the feat in 2003 with Express before hiding them to the 2012 Uganda Premier League title.

Byekwaso meets Mandela over Villa job, to work with a foreign coach
Former KCCA FC coach Morley Byekwaso might be destined to SC Villa ahead of the 2023/2024 football season, Pulse Sports can reliably report.
The KCCA FC board is desperate for silverware, and as there is a need to build a formidable team from scratch, winning at all costs is the ultimate target.
And Ssimbwa might be the missing link between them and a significant silverware; they have now gone five seasons without a league trophy and four without any major silverware. The last one was the CECAFA Kagame Cup in 2019.
The club is also talking to Jackson Mayanja, though according to reports, the board wants him to work with an experienced backroom staff, starting with a tried and tested assistant.

FOOTBALL KCCA FC up for CAF Confederation Cup challenge
Club CEO Anisha Muhoozi had earlier told Pulse Sports in an exclusive interview that they were still contemplating whether to take up the slot.
Mayanja, who handled the team on an interim basis after the resignation of Morley Byekwaso, worked with Charles Nsaziro Ssenyange as his assistant together with Ssaka Mpiima and Nathan Mutenza.
After their announcement that they would be playing on the continent in the CAF Confederation Cup and desperate to compete, their next coach must meet abilities to perform at that level.
