Thirteen-time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA FC have confirmed sending midfielder Emmanuel Wasswa to Express FC on loan.

According to a statement from KCCA on their website, Wasswa, who has two years to run down his contract, will spend the 2023/24 season with the Red Eagles.

However, the 'Kasasiro Boys' will have the option to recall the player after the first round, should there be need.

"The loan has a clause that allows KCCA FC to revoke and have him return after the first round of the 2023/24 season," the club said.

The deal comes in handy for Wasswa, who will be eager to rack valuable playing time, which would have been hard to come by at KCCA.

Last season, he only managed ten league appearances as he had to deal with a number of injury setbacks.

While this is a temporary move, KCCA has parted ways with a number of players including Ali Mwirusi, Brian Aheebwa, Benjamin Ochan, Geoffrey Wasswa, Mustafa Kizza, Allan Okello, Brian Majwega and Denis Iguma.

Meanwhile, this will be Wasswa's third club in the topflight after a previous spell with SC Villa.
