The visitors stunned the MTN Omondi Stadium when Fred Amaku's put them ahead in the 8th minute from a well-weighted delivery by Ceaser Olega.

KCCA FC missed the opportunity to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League summit as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home against Maroons FC on Saturday.

The visitors stunned the MTN Omondi Stadium when Fred Amaku's put them ahead in the 8th minute from a well-weighted delivery by Ceaser Olega.

Despite conceding an early goal, KCCA remained composed and tried to equalize, with Peter Magambo coming close with a header that went wide off Allan Okello's delivery from a corner.

KCCA finally got their equalizer just before halftime through Rogers Mato's well-taken header at the near post from a perfect delivery by Okello.

In the second half, KCCA dominated the proceedings, creating numerous chances but were denied by some good goalkeeping from Maroons' man of the match, Simon Tamale.

KCCA coach, Morley Byekwaso, made a double substitution, bringing on Julius Poloto and Moses Waiswa to try and bring some life to their attacking line, but they failed to find a breakthrough.

The draw leaves KCCA in the second position on the league table with 36 points, one behind SC Villa, who have played two games more.

On the other hand, Maroons FC, who earned a valuable point away from home, moved to the eighth position on the log with 26 points.

In the other game played on Saturday, URA FC bounced back from a defeat in their previous game to beat Soltilo Bright Stars FC 2-0 at the Kavumba Recreational Centre.

URA FC had earlier lost 2-1 to Busoga United but responded strongly to secure a comfortable win over their hosts.

The result lifted URA FC to the fifth position on the league table with 26 points, the same as Arua Hill, Wakiso Giants, and Maroons FC, but with an inferior goal difference.
