The Portuguese tactician was hired for silverware and the big stage, and positive results against the Libyan outfit will be enough to take KCCA back to where they were in 2017 and 2018.
KCCA FC will start their journey to the CAF Confederation Cup in a tricky tie in North Africa on Sunday evening.
Encouraged by the team’s displays in the preseason, the fans will be hoping for a result that will keep the Kasasiro Boys in the tie going into the return fixture in Uganda.
Abu Salem of Libya will be Traguil’s most significant challenge thus far, and with 180 minutes separating KCCA from a return to the Group Stages of the competition, the stakes could not be higher.

CAF CC KCCA FC captain reveals team's motivating factor ahead the CAF Confederation Cup against Libyans
KCCA FC qualified through the back door after falling second to double-winning Vipers in the Uganda Premier League last season.
The Portuguese tactician was hired for silverware and the big stage, and positive results against the Libyan outfit will be enough to take KCCA back to where they were in 2017 and 2018.
KCCA played in the Confederation Cup group stages in 2017 and also reached the group stages of the CAF Champions League the following year, with Mike Mutebi at the helm.
The two-legged affair will start in Tunisia, where Abu Salim host their matches before a return leg at St. Mary’s Stadium to decide who makes it to the money bracket of the competition.
“We have prepared well, the lads are very motivated, and we shall do whatever it takes to reach the group stages,” Traguil revealed to the press ahead of the game.
In Traguil’s squad are players who were present when the club made some noise on the continent, and their experience could come in handy.
Julius Poloto, Peter Magambo, Filbert Obenchan and Herbert Achai are some of the players who were at the club during the successful Mike Mutebi days.
