KCCA FC interim head coach Jackson Mayanja is set to receive a crack from the FUFA Disciplinary Panel after calling out centre referee Mashood Ssali in the team's 1-0 defeat to Vipers SC.

After the Milton Karisa-induced pain on Friday at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende, the defeat didn't go down well with Mayanja, blaming it on the referee.

"Today, the best team lost. I want to look straight into the camera without fear and say it, and I don't care what happens," an angry Mayanja said.

"Mashood (Ssali) is a problem to this country, that I say," he said before lambasting the journalists who asked for explanations.

These statements, coupled with his general misconduct, have drawn action from FUFA.

"The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel (FCDP) has opened disciplinary proceedings against Jackson Mayanja for his post-match comments made on Friday 5th May 2023 after the league match between his club KCCA FC and Vipers SC at St. Mary's Kitende Stadium," a FUFA statement said.

"The proceedings were opened drawing attention to Article 31 of the FUFA Competition rules and regulations with reference to the comments which appear to constitute improper conduct."

"Mayanja is required to submit a written response and send it to FUFA by email by Monday 8th May 2023, 2:00 pm or hand deliver it to FUFA House," FUFA demanded.

KCCA descended to third on the table and are on 45 points, joint with runners-up Vipers, who have superior goal difference and a game in hand.

The Venoms also boast two games in hand over table leaders SC Villa, who have 46 points.

KCCA will want to make an instant response next Saturday when they visit rivals Express FC at Wankulukuku in the Kampala derby.
