StarTimes Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC has confirmed the transfer of their striker Roger Mato to Turkish second division side Şanlıurfa Spor Kulübü.

Mato joined KCCA FC in 2021 on a four-year deal from former Uganda Premier League side Proline FC.

He had two years remaining on his contract by the time of the transfer.

His stakes started rising in the 2022/23 season when he emerged as the club’s best and UPL’s third-best striker with 11 goals and four assists, missing the golden boot by two goals.

He is also remembered for scoring the all-important goal against Tanzania that kept Uganda Cranes' hopes of qualifying for the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

“KCCA FC and Turkish side Şanlıurfa Spor Kulübü have agreed for the transfer of Rogers Mato to the Turkish side,” the club confirmed the transfer without revealing further details of the transaction.

“Everyone at the club thanks Rogers Mato Kassim for the memories over the years and wishes him the best at his new club,” the club said.

Şanlıurfa Spor Kulübü is a club that plays in the Turkish Football Federation First League, which is the second level of the Turkish Football League System.
