"Kataka FC, as a football club, would like to distance itself from such acts and also make it clear that these were acts of individuals not in any way connected to the fans of Kataka FC as a team."
"Luckily, CCTV cameras mounted outside the facility could have captured these happenings."
According to reports, hooligans snatched phones from Adjumani TC players through the windows as their mini-bus set off from the premises.
The players and officials then attempted a chase to recover the stolen items but instead ran into goons, who pounced on them, causing severe injuries.
The hideous events have, however, put the club in a complicated situation following last season's precedents. In the final match of the campaign, Kataka players beat ans injured Kyetume FC players on the pitch, which attracted sanctions.
The former started the campaign with two goals and as many points less, while they hosted the opening five matches away from home.
Kataka fans also have in the past, been accused of getting into fights with opposition supporters, but, it now awaits what they are fated 10 games to the end of the season.
