Karasani, alongside Nyayo Stadium are set to host the biennial show that was postponed in February even as the renovation works near completion.

Mvurya maintained that adoring football fans will access Kasarani in June since the venue will host high-profile matches whether local or international.

"In fact we have already said that every other match that is going to be played whether international match will be moved here, so from June we should be seeing more of test matches at this ground just to make sure that what we have seen in the two matches (Kenya vs Gabon tie and Mashemeji Derby) is that football is back in the country and Kenyans are inspired so we will have matches here soon," Mvuyra told Citizen Digital.

Nyayo Stadium, which was also under renovation is complete and has hosted the 2026 World Cup Qualifier match in March.

Mvurya at the same time said the works at Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Usain Gishu County are expected to take shape after the government sorted the contractor.

"I saw it this morning and I was surprised, but we had already sorted the contractor at Kipchoge Keino. In fact the money hit his account last Friday and therefore there is no reason to worry about it. The work continues, this time round to completion.”

Kenya, alongside Uganda and Tanzania, will co-host the CHAN as well as the Africa Cup of Nations AFCON 2027. Stadium facelift is a major priority for all the hosting countries.
