The Slum Boys failed to take advantage of their few chances as the mailmen forced them into the dour stalemate

Kariobangi Sharks and Posta Rangers played out a dour goalless draw in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League at Kasarani Annex on Thursday.

In a match that had little to talk about regarding the action on the pitch but several injury-enforced stoppages, both teams failed to sparkle with chances few and far between.

Rangers were forced into an early change when Calvin Odongo was taken off through injury with Edwin Lukuwam replacing him before Sharks had their first opportunity on goal.

A lovely exchange of passes saw them get into the Rangers box and a beautifully lofted ball found Leon-Levitt Otieno, Sharks forward heading just wide when he should have scored at the near post.

Neither team threatened from then on before a scary moment on the stroke of halftime which saw Rangers defender Maurice Sunga carried off the pitch by an ambulance.

Sunga went for an aerial ball with Otieno and came off worse and after being attended to on the pitch, he was quicky ushered into the ambulance and rushed to the hospital.

After the break, Sharks had the best chance of the game when Fortune Omoto drew a good save from Rangers goalkeeper Brain Obiero after coming close to finding the bottom left corner in the 52nd minute.

Rangers would later lose a third player to injury after Brin Otieno was stretched off less than 10 minutes from time.

The draw leaves both teams unchanged on the log with Rangers 10th on the on 39 points while Sharks are 11th two points behind.

The only positive for Sharks is that they kept their first clean sheet since February 19, having conceded 40 goals, with only the bottom three of Mathare United, Wazito FC and Vihiga United letting in more.
