The Harambee Stars striker came up trumps when his relegation-fighting Arba Minch needed him the most
Kenyan international Erick Kapaito made it three goals in as many games as his strike saw Arba Minch secure a much-needed 2-1 win over Defence Force in an Ethiopian Premier League match on Friday.
Kapaito played the full 90 minutes of the encounter and came up trumps when his side needed him as Arba Minch were forced to come from behind following Samuel Saliso’s 34th-minute goal which saw Defence Force take a 1-0 lead at halftime.
With both teams going at each other after the break, Arba Minch had to wait until the 70th minute to get their reward when Derese Temesgen leveled matters before Kapaito turned the game on its head seven minutes later to hand the struggling side the victory with what was his fourth goal of the season.
Victory saw Arba Minch move to 12th on the 16-team log with 21 points, 12 ahead of the dreaded relegation place.
The Harambee Stars forward has shown remarkable form in front of goal lately and his purple patch comes at the right time when his side are in a tough fight to avoid relegation.
