KCCA FC forward Simon Tshisungu Kankonde was the centre of ugly controversy in his side's 1-0 Uganda Premier League defeat to nemesis Vipers SC at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende.
The lanky striker was involved in hideous misdeeds that involved a physical altercation with Vipers' goalkeeping coach Ibrahim Mugisha and another with referee Mashood Ssali.

With the game at 0-0, Kankonde and Mugisha pushed and shoved each other after a melee that involved various players from either team.
However, the wildest of actions appeared at full-time as Kankonde seemed to punch the referee, Ssali, in the contestation of how he handled the match, to which the latter drew a red card.
The Congolese would later lose himself, as various players and security forced him to the dressing room.
"The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel (FCDP) has opened disciplinary proceedings against Kankonde Tshisungu regarding incidents in the context of violent conduct that happened on Friday 5th May 2023 as his club KCCA FC played Vipers SC at St. Mary's Kitende Stadium," said a FUFA statement.
"The proceedings were opened drawing attention to Article 31 of the FUFA Competition rules and regulations."
"Kankonde is required to submit a written response and send it to FUFA via email by Monday 8th May 2023 5:00 pm," the statement summed.
This comes less than 48 hours since KCCA interim head coach Jackson Mayanja received his own disciplinary summon for attributing the defeat to the match official.
"I will look in the camera, and I don't fear to say it; Mr Mashood Ssali is a problem to this country," he said in the post-match press conference.
The developments come at a time when KCCA is chasing the UPL title. They sit third with 45 points, joint with runners-up Vipers, who have a game in hand.
