Kwara United at the moment, are the least-scoring side in the NPFL this season, having only found the back of the net twice in eight matches.
Kwara United's new coach Kabiru Dogo has demanded that his players must step up their games in an effort to improve their dreadful Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, as the team has continued to struggle to score goals in league matches.
The Harmony Boys were on Wednesday, forced to yet another goalless draw, this time, by visiting Remo Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.
The fixture was Dogo’s first in charge of the Ilorin club after he was, appointed to replace Abdulazeez Mohammed who left the club almost a week ago.
Kwara United at the moment, are the least-scoring side in the NPFL this season, having only found the back of the net twice in eight matches. The poor start have also seen them pick up only one win, losing the other four, and drawing three.
Dogo says team would work on attack
Speaking on his side's deficiencies, Dogo noted that his new team is rich in quality as reflected in their draw with Remo Stars, but added that they will have to improve on their goal-scoring.
“The boys gave a good account of themselves, even though we would have loved to win Remo Stars, especially as we dominated play,” the former Wikki Tourists coach said.
“We will try to improve on the areas and we have identified as problems for the team, especially in the attack."
A chance to redeem themselves in Maiduguri
As it stands, Kwara United currently sit in eighth position in Group A of the 2023 season, with just six points, and are just a point off relegation places in the group.
The Harmony Boys' first-round schedule will come to an end in Maiduguri this weekend when they take on last-placed El-Kanemi Warriors.
After Week 9 games, the NPFL will embark on a three-week break as Nigeria approaches its crucial national elections period.
