Arthur was the victim of another robbery attack in Spain.

Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo was assaulted and robbed in one of Barcelona’s most exclusive shopping districts on Thursday afternoon, April 3.

The Juventus loanee, currently playing for LaLiga club Girona, fell victim to two assailants in a parking lot on Passeig de Gracia at approximately 4:00 PM, as reported by MARCA.

According to eyewitnesses, the footballer had just stepped out to do some light shopping during his free time.

As he went to retrieve a parking ticket, an individual crept up from behind and forcefully snatched his luxury watch.

The report adds that the thief bolted towards a waiting motorcycle  “in a matter of a second,” where an accomplice was positioned for a swift getaway.

Despite the terrifying ordeal, the 28-year-old former Barcelona star was not physically harmed and promptly reported the incident to local authorities.

This would not be the first time Arthur has faced such a threat.

In 2019, while he was playing for Barca, his home was burgled during a Champions League semi-final clash against Liverpool.

During that incident, his brother was reportedly threatened with a weapon.

Arthur, who was once touted as the next great midfield maestro when he signed from Barcelona to Juventus for a jaw-dropping €72 million (plus €10 million in variables) in 2020, has struggled to live up to his hefty price tag.

He featured just once for Liverpool during an injury-riddled loan spell, playing a mere 13 minutes.

Now in his third consecutive loan spell, this time with Girona, the Brazilian has only managed six appearances this season.

Arthur came on as a substitute in Girona’s 1-0 home defeat against Alavés, replacing Oriol Romeu in the 68th minute.

However, he could not help his side who currently sit 13th in the summit as they dropped three points at the Montilivi on Saturday, April 5.
