A Chelsea legend has blasted Cristiano Ronaldo for his recent comments regarding the Saudi Pro League, urging the football superstar to 'shut up' after Ronaldo claimed superiority of the Saudi league over Ligue 1.
Ronaldo, now with Al-Nassr after his stint with Manchester United, sparked controversy with his remarks comparing the competitiveness of the Saudi Pro League and Ligue 1.
He asserted that the Saudi league stood toe-to-toe with Ligue 1, suggesting it might even surpass it in quality.

Ronaldo’s comment on Ligue 1
Ronaldo’s statement towards the French League has caused a lot of reactions from pundits and fans on social media.
The Portuguese stated, as reported by the Daily Mail, “The Saudis are in a process that will take long, but step by step, we will reach the highest level.
“I believe they are going to be in the top three or four in the world. Step by step, I think we are going to reach that.”
Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf was swift in his response to Ronaldo's claims, expressing his frustration and questioning Ronaldo's motivations.
“It annoys me when I hear Cristiano Ronaldo saying that the Saudi Pro League is better than Ligue 1,” Leboeuf remarked.
“Why do you think he chose to make that comment about Ligue 1 rather than the Portuguese League? It's because Lionel Messi played in Ligue 1. I have lots of respect for him as a player but come on, just shut up! It is unfair to Ligue 1.”
Leboeuf claimed that the reason Ronaldo made such a statement was because his rival Lionel Messi played in the French League.
