The young team was received to a celebratory reception with dance and goodies earlier this morning upon their arrival back into the country,
The team made history as the first-ever Kenyan squad to compete in any FIFA World Cup finals, achieving a significant milestone for the country in global football.
Despite an early exit from the tournament after the group stage, the Junior Starlets displayed resilience and made a remarkable impact in Group C, where they faced off against a formidable England, North Korea, and Mexico.

Junior Starlets player Valarie Nekesa, who scored Kenya’s first-ever World Cup goal during the FIFA U17 tournament, feels it will act as a major motivation for future success.
Although they opened their campaign with a 2-0 and another 3-0 loss to England and North Korea respectively, Starlets achieved a historic 2-1 victory over Mexico in their final group match.
The match against Mexico was especially memorable for Kenya as it marked the nation’s first-ever goals in a World Cup tournament.
Valarie Nekesa became a national icon by scoring Kenya's maiden World Cup goal.
Shortly after, Lorna Faith Wasike added to the scoreboard in the 36th minute, giving Kenya a 2-0 lead.
Mexico managed to score a consolation goal in stoppage time, but the Junior Starlets held on for the victory, finishing third in Group C with three points.
With this win, Coach Mildred Cheche’s team earned a place in Kenyan sports history, finishing behind North Korea and England, who advanced with nine and six points, respectively.
