The ‘Lion’ has demanded a written apology from the Belgian in the next three days.
Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has instituted legal proceedings against his AFC Leopards counterpart Patrick Aussems following the latter’s ‘juju man’ jibe last week.
Aussems made what has been a defamatory comment via a social media post directed at Matano, following the two teams’ meeting on Wednesday, April 5 when Tusker won 1-0.
The two coaches had an altercation on the touchline during and shortly after the encounter and the Belgian tactician would follow it up with the comment the following day to the chagrin of Matano who threatened to institute legal action.
“Unfortunately, we have been punished at the last minute due to a lack of aggression! Congratulations to the players of Tusker," Aussems posted on Twitter.
"Of course, l won't talk about an old coach with no international experience who is more of a djudju [Juju] man than a tactician... one could learn," he added.
The Lion has now lived up to his threats going by a demand letter sent to Aussems by his legal representatives Wambilianga Majani and Associates.
Through the demand letter, Matano wants a written apology from Aussems which should be further published on the Belgian’s Twitter account in the next three days, failure to which he will institute full legal proceedings against him.

Aussems claims comes a day after Ingwe lost in the stoppage time to Tusker.
“The said words in their natural meaning and in the context of the aforesaid publication meant and was understood by those reading the publication to mean that our client as a coach lacks requisite knowledge of football,” the demand letter reads.
“Further by calling our client a djudju (juju) man, you insinuated that our client is a witch, sorcerer, evil, black magician, warlock and/or practices black magic, especially for evil purposes.
“The said statement is false and malicious and only meant to stain his good reputation as he is a highly-respected coach not just in Kenya but in East Africa. Our client is a national hero with a rich profile both as a footballer and coach filled with success.
“By reason of your publication, our client has been disparaged in his professional business as a football coach and his esteem has been lowered in the eyes of right-thinking members of society and thus suffered embarrassment, contempt and odium.”
Matano is a three-time Kenyan Premier League winner, having led Tusker to two titles (2012 and 2021) as well as Sofapaka to the 2009 crown in their debut top-flight campaign.
