Baraza has insisted he is viewing the international break as a window of opportunity to get his best players back to help them challenge for the title.

Bandari FC head coach John Baraza is happy that the international break will allow him to have some of his key players available again, which will only strengthen his charges moving forward.

The Dockers sit fourth in the league on 19 points, three behind leaders Posta Rangers, which puts them in a strong position to challenge for the title this season after 11 games played.

Speaking to Pulse Sports, Baraza insisted that he was viewing the break as a window of opportunity to get his best players back, as well as to work on some more tactical details to make his side even stronger after the break.

“On one side, anytime there is an international break and you are not playing for two weeks, the rhythm can get disrupted,” Baraza said.

“On the other hand, you have an advantage because my injured first-choice players will have a good time to recover.”

Meanwhile, Baraza has revealed the side’s target for the remaining games of the season both in the short term and medium term.

“Getting three points in this division is not easy. Any time you get three points, it is never easy because it keeps you in touching distance with those on top.”

“In the short term, we do not want the leaders to be ahead of us by such a large margin. I think we are on track.

“When the second leg comes, we will deal with it accordingly, but for now, this is a first leg and for now, we do not want them to leave us by such a large margin.”

Under Baraza, Bandari have won four out of six games, with the other two games being losses. He took charge of the club after Twahir Muhiddin stepped down as head coach, citing he was not able to handle hands-on roles anymore.

Bandari will face FC Talanta in their next game of the season once league action resumed.
