The Brazilian star is set to return for the Gunners as they attempt to win their first Premier League title in 19 years.
Brazil star Gabriel Jesus has provided an update on his fitness status after more than a month out due to injury.
Jesus has been out for more than a month after picking up injury on international duty. The 25-year-old picked up a knee injury in Brazil’s clash against Cameroon at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Jesus eyeing February return
Jesus returned to Arsenal immediately before undergoing a successful surgery. Following the surgery it was reported that the former Manchester City would out for three months.
However, it appears the Brazilian is ahead of schedule after revealing to UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov that he is five weeks away from returning to full fitness.
Jesus told the UFC champion following Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Manchester United in their Premier League clash at the Emirates on Sunday.
Khabib was at the Emirates to watch the clash, sitting beside Jesus in the executive box. Following the match, the UFC legend asked Jesus about his recovery to which Jesus said: Maybe four or five weeks more I come back.
Jesus to hand Arsenal a boost
Jesus’ potential return will be a big boost for Arsenal in the Premier League title race. The Gunners are currently five points ahead of Manchester City with a game in hand.
Although Mikel Arteta’s men have stayed solid without him, Jesus is still a key player for the Gunners with five goals and six assists in 14 league games.
His return in the business end of the season could be crucial in Arsenal’s quest to end their 19-year wait for a Premier League title.
