Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes the Reds should have opted for an elite manager as Jurgen Klopp's successor instead of an up and comer like Arne Slot.
In a bold critique, football pundit Jamie Carragher has questioned Liverpool's choice of manager, suggesting that the club may have overlooked a prime candidate in Thomas Tuchel.
Carragher's remarks come in the wake of reports indicating that Feyenoord's Arne Slot is set to take over the helm at Anfield.

Mo Salah sparks friction with Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool's title hopes dwindle
Jurgen Klopp has chosen silence on heated spat with Mohamed Salah as Liverpool's title hopes hang by a thread.
What he said
Carragher, writing for the Daily Telegraph, stated, "I would have given more thorough consideration to a coach like Thomas Tuchel, who took on and beat Pep Guardiola in the ultimate test, a Champions League final."
Highlighting Tuchel's illustrious career, Carragher pointed to his successful spells at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, where he followed in the footsteps of current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
Carragher voiced concerns about the potential risks associated with appointing a manager from the Eredivisie, despite Slot's reputation for attacking football. He cited the struggles of previous Dutch coaches in the Premier League as a cautionary tale, which includes Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag.
Tuchel's Availability
With Tuchel set to depart Bayern Munich at the end of the season, Carragher suggested that the German could have been a strong contender for Liverpool's managerial position.
He hinted at Tuchel's ability to bounce back from setbacks, likening him to top coaches like Carlo Ancelotti and Unai Emery.
"Tuchel followed Klopp at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund and did well. It has not worked out at Bayern Munich this season, but you only have to look at Carlo Ancelotti and Unai Emery to recognise how top coaches recover from setbacks."
