Bugisu went into the match at the Mbale City Stadium in need of a win with a four-goal margin but only managed two.

URA FC goalkeeper James Alitho struck late as Bugisu Province beat West Nile 2-0, but it was not enough to push them to the quarterfinals of the 2023 FUFA Drum.

Bugisu went into the match at the Mbale City Stadium in need of a win with a four-goal margin but only managed two.

Usma Khayemba gave Bugisu side hopes with his early second-half header, connecting with a pass from Hassan Wandenga.

Alitho doubled the score with six minutes to go from the spot after Patrick Bayiga had handled a cross inside the box.

West Nile ended the Group C campaign on top with six points as Busoga and Bugisu tied on five but the latter qualified due to their superior goal difference.

Teso and Acholi went through Group A, eliminating Ankole, Lang’o and Kigezi progressed from Pool B, while Tooro and Buganda outclassed Bunyoro in D.
