In a heartfelt statement, Tusker paid tribute to their departing stalwart, acknowledging him as a long-time servant of the club and praising his dedication, hard work, and leadership on and off the field.

"A long time servant of the club, diligent, hardworking, and a motivating senior figure in the team, Jackson Macharia, leaves the club. A legend in his own right, we thank Masha for his time; seven years and nine months. All the best in your new adventure 'dreader',” Tusker FC expressed in a heartfelt statement.

Reflecting on his time with Tusker, Macharia reminisced about the unforgettable moments he experienced during his tenure.

"I want to thank the team, from the brand, management, coaches, and my fellow players for the past seven years I have been at Tusker FC. I am who I am today because of this club, and I want to sincerely pay gratitude where it is due," expressed Macharia, showing his appreciation for the club that played a pivotal role in shaping his career.

During his time with Tusker, Macharia experienced numerous unforgettable moments, including the exhilarating double season in 2016 and the triumphant league-winning run in 2021.

"I have enjoyed every moment, from the 2016 double season to our league winning run in 2021. It is time for me to seek a fresh challenge and I want to wish the club all the best in the new season. Thank you Tusker FC, forever in my heart," he added.

Throughout his stay at Ruaraka, Macharia displayed remarkable growth, earning him the accolade of being called a "full package" by football analysts.

His ability to unsettle defenders in the penalty area made him a nightmare for opposing teams, and his unwavering commitment to the defensive aspect of the game solidified the Brewers' backline.

Moreover, he was never one to shy away from doing the dirty work to ensure the Brewers' defensive lines were solid and secure.

In addition to his contributions to the Brewers, Macharia's impressive performances caught the attention of the national team selectors, earning him his first call-up to the Kenya national team in May 2017.

Macharia's departure leaves a void in the Tusker midfield, and the club's management will likely be on the lookout for a suitable replacement to fill his shoes.
