Decorum and Campaign Regulations
Delegates and candidates have been instructed to adhere to strict guidelines: No branded merchandise or campaign materials will be allowed inside the venue.
Delegates must act with decorum, avoiding chanting, shouting, or promoting any candidate.
The campaign period officially ended on Friday, December 6, and all participants are expected to respect the process.
“Please come as decent delegates. No branding, no campaigning, and no carrying materials suggesting any allegiance,” the board stated.
Accreditation and Agents
Each candidate is permitted to have one accredited agent. The board requested submission of agent details by Friday, 3 PM, to finalize preparations. Only accredited agents will be allowed entry.
Voting Process and Legal Framework
The election will feature 90 eligible delegates, down from the expected 93 due to unresolved litigation:
Nyamira and Homa Bay counties lack elected chairs.
The Referees Association representative is absent due to ongoing disputes.
The voting process includes a three-round structure if no candidate achieves a majority in the first round:
First Round: A candidate must secure 50% + 1 of the votes.
Second Round: If no winner emerges, the top three candidates proceed, with the lowest-ranked eliminated.
Third Round: The final two candidates compete, with the winner determined by a simple majority.
“This process ensures fairness and clarity, especially in the event of a closely contested race,” the board explained.
Delegate Composition
The 90 voting delegates include:
Club representatives.
46 county chairs.
James Situma, president of the Players’ Welfare Association.
The FKF Elective SGM promises to shape the future of Kenyan football, and the Electoral Board is confident in its preparations to ensure a transparent and credible process. Football stakeholders and fans across the country await the results with anticipation.
