The highly-rated striker has announced plans for a three-day wedding ceremony to the controversial Tanzanian socialite but some Yanga fans are fearing the worst for him.

Yanga striker Aziz Ki is set to marry controversial Tanzanian socialite Hamisa Mobetto in a three-day wedding ceremony this month.

Being the month of love, Ki and Mobetto have organized their wedding in mid-February after Valentine’s Day in what is a highly-awaited ceremony in Tanzania.

Ki and Mobetto made their relationship public in January 2025 and the two have been cozying up since but few expected a wedding to follow soon after given the footballer is in the middle of a busy season with Yanga.

Through a joint Instagram post, the two announced their three-day marriage programme that will start with the dowry payment on February 15, Nikkah (an Islamic marriage ceremony where a man and woman sign a marriage contract), the day after, and the celebration on February 19.

However, some in Tanzania do not approve of the wedding, given Mobetto’s controversies and past relationships. The mother of two was also in a relationship with Tanzanian music superstar Diamond Platnumz, whom he has a child with.

“Aziz ki, ashalishwa unga wa ndere, Karogwa and I am 100% sure kama hii itakua ni ndoa, basi it will end in tears,” pointed out a fan on X.

“14/2 Yanga tunacheza na KMC. 15/2 Aziz Ki anatoa mahari kwa Hamisa. 17/2 Yanga tunacheza na Singida. 19/2 kijana ana sherehe. Nafikiri kijana wetu apewe tu likizo fupi ya maandalizi ya wiki yake ya shughuli. (In Feb 14 Yanga play KMC but on Feb 15 Aziz Ki is paying dowry. Feb 17, Yanga play Singida but on 19 is the wedding celebration. I think the player should just be given a little break to prepare for the wedding),” pointed out a concerned Yanga fan.

“Mpira wa Bongo utamshinda huyu. (He will end up flopping as a footballer),” said another fan.

“Hela za mkataba zote alizopata Yanga zitabakii Tanzania na atarudi kama alivokuja. (All his money will be finished in Tanzania and he will go back home just as he came),” said another one.

“Hakuna ndoa humo, pray for the lost boy (No marriage there, pray for the lost boy),” was the observation of another fan.

“Hadi namuonea huruma maskini! (I sympathize with the player).”

Ki joined Yanga in 2022 from Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas, for a reported $150,000, and became an integral player, helping them to the league title and he bagged 21 goals and provided eight assists last season, which saw him attract interest from a number of clubs.

South African giants Kaizer Chiefs and Algeria’s CR Belouizdad were among clubs pursuing him but Yanga handed him a lucrative two-year contract extension to fend off the suitors and the player signed the deal to end the speculation over his future.
