The defending champions Gor Mahia continued their strong start in league action with a 3-0 thrashing of Posta Rangers.

Gor Mahia continued their strong start to the season with a convincing 3-0 victory over Posta Rangers in their 2nd FKF Premier League fixture at the Machakos Stadium on Saturday.

However, despite the dominant display, head coach Leo Neiva expressed disappointment with his team's overall performance.

In the match, Neiva made five changes from the squad that had previously dispatched Mathare United 4-0 in their season opener with Caleb Omondi stepping in for the absent Gad Mathews in goal, while Levin Joseph replaced Geoffrey Ochieng in defense.

The midfield saw significant alterations, with only Enock Morrison retaining his position as Omondi Boniface and Juma Lawrence came in for Kapen Samuel and Onyango Alpha.

Up front, Austin Odhiambo and Christopher Ochieng kept their places, and Wangai Bryson took over from Shariff Musa.

Gor Mahia started the match with intent, quickly asserting dominance in possession a sthey went on to win 3-0 with goals from Wangai, Odhiambo and Gedeon Bendeka.

Despite the win, Neiva was critical of his team’s overall execution.

“The most important thing for us is the win because of how they went about the game. It was not a very beautiful game for both sides. It was not a very technical game. We provided too much space in the backline,” he stated post-match.

The tactician acknowledged that the first half did not meet tactical expectations but felt improvements were made in the second half.

“The players that came in the second half did very well.”

Looking at the positives, Neiva remarked, “We are very satisfied because we won. This is our second game, and we have scored seven goals and kept clean sheets.”

K'Ogalo currently places 6th on the log standings with 6 point having won 2 in 2 matches played as they are keen to retain their title.
