Ruben Amorim's first match in charge did not go as planned, dropping points to Ipswich in a 1-1 stalemate.
New Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has downplayed his team’s 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town in his first game in charge in the English Premier League (EPL).
The Portuguese tactician, who took over Erik ten Hag, expressed calmness despite the underwhelming result at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils got off to a flying start when Marcus Rashford netted in the second minute, capitalising on United’s early pressure.
However, the hosts failed to maintain their lead as Ipswich’s Omari Hutchinson equalised just before halftime, punishing defensive lapses.

'You may like it, you may not' - Manchester United boss Amorim hints at drastic tactical changes at club
Manchester United boss Amorim has hinted at monumental tactical changes to the side as he embarks on his Red Devil's tenure.
United pushed hard for a winner in the second half, but Ipswich’s resolute defense held firm, ensuring Amorim's managerial debut ended with a single point. Despite the disappointment, Amorim struck a composed tone post-match.
“Decision-making is a concern,” he admitted to the media after the match.
“At this level, you don't need to coach players on that, but we are doing some things at the wrong moments, and that’s what we need to address.”
The former Sporting CP manager suggested that his players might have overthought situations during the game.
“You could feel it. This is normal, but I want the process to be clear. It was just two days with the full squad, so we’re still adapting.”
Amorim has been tasked with steering United's season back on track after a shaky start to the season that has seen the sides title challenge written off early on.
The draw leaves United in 12th place in the EPL standings, with 16 points from 12 matches. Their inconsistent campaign continues with four wins, four draws, and four losses so far.
