In the late 1990s, Martha Tarhemba gained recognition as a midfielder while playing for the Super Falcons.
She was a member of the Super Falcons team led by Ismaila Mabo that won the 1998 African Women's Championship, which is now known as the Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

She demonstrated her continued football talent and claimed that she still had what it took to play while doing so.
According to reports, she retired in the early 2000s and currently lives in the United States of America.
Tarhemba had a very successful career because she participated in every competition that Nigeria could find.
In addition to competing in the Olympics and Women's Nations Cup, she was a member of the 1999 World Cup team.
The 46-year-old competed in the Australian Summer Olympics in 2000. Together with the team, she scored eighteen goals and gave up none to win a title.
