Bruno Fernandes has expressed that he prefers playing for Manchester United.

Candidly assessing the current state of Manchester United, captain Bruno Fernandes has expressed concerns about the atmosphere within the club, calling it "not positive."

Speaking to The Sun, Fernandes attributed the team's struggles to a lack of victories, highlighting the impact of poor performance on morale.

The Red Devils find themselves languishing in 14th place in the Premier League, experiencing their worst start to a season in history under manager Erik ten Hag.

After a disappointing goalless draw against Aston Villa, United's recent form has raised questions about Ten Hag’s position, with speculation mounting about potential managerial changes.

Fernandes emphasized that the mood within the squad is challenging, stating, “It's not a positive moment,” and underscoring how the lack of wins has affected team dynamics.

The midfielder contrasted this with his experience with the Portuguese national team, where he feels more at ease. "The national team space is completely different. I've felt very at ease, the dynamics are good," he said. "I'm in my country, I speak my language and I have better food."

The 30-year-old midfielder’s remarks highlight a growing discontent among players, as the pressure mounts to turn the season around.

United's struggles have been compounded by recent disappointing results, including a shocking draw against Porto after conceding a two-goal lead.

As the international break offers a momentary respite, Ten Hag is hoping for a turnaround when league action resumes.

Despite his frustrations at club level, Fernandes remains focused on improving his own performance.

He admitted that he has not yet scored for Manchester United this season, stating, "What I have been doing is not at all what I want for this season because I haven't scored at the club yet."

He expressed a determination to change that upon his return, saying, "I hope that once I get there, I can score and help my club get back to winning ways."

Looking ahead, Fernandes will play a key role in Portugal's upcoming Nations League fixtures against Poland and Scotland.

He has already made significant contributions to the national team, scoring against Scotland in the last round of matches.

The United captain is clearly hoping to channel that form back to Old Trafford, aiming to lift both his spirits and those of his teammates amid a challenging season.
