Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has a clear picture of the Uganda Cranes' shape ahead of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Tanzania.
The Cranes face Tanzania in a double leg on Friday 24th and Tuesday 28th March in Egypt and Tanzania respectively.
The team stepped up their preparations with a 3-1 victory over Egyptian Premier League side Ismailia on Tuesday evening.
Fahad Bayo, Rogers Mato and Richard Basangwa scored the goals for Uganda Cranes as they concluded their test matches.
Micho says that the match answered some of his questions on the status of his players as they embark on the final training.
“The friendly match has given us some answers on who is capable and who needs more work. [it has also given us a hint] on who will start the game or come from the bench,” Micho said after the game played behind closed doors.
Final decision
Micho will use Wednesday’s training to make up his mind as he looks to take the battle to the Taifa Stars.
“Many questions have been answered today but the last two training will give us the final one.
“We have a high degree of respect for Tanzania but with respect to 50 million Ugandans at home and abroad, we need to do well. For us, our AFCON qualifiers start on Friday,” he added.
Both teams sit at the bottom of the Group F table with a point apiece and will be aiming at each other as pool leaders Algeria take on Guinea in the other schedules. Algeria stands on top with six points and will seal their spot with a double win in the next seven days.
