According to latest reports, Inter are due to hold talks with Romelu Lukaku’s representatives on Tuesday as they remain hopeful on Paolo Dybala swoop

Inter Milan are all set to hold talks with Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 about a possible return to the Nerazzurri.

Lukaku has endured a difficult first season back at Chelsea and would like to go back to Inter but a deal would be complicated given the Premier League club paid a record £97.5m for his signature last August.

Inter are now set to open talks with Chelsea over a possible loan deal as transfer would seem to complicated at the moment.

Lukaku’s representatives also intend to speak to Chelsea soon to understand how they view his future.

Inter’s chief executive, Giuseppe Marotta, was asked on Monday about potential moves for Lukaku and Paulo Dybala, who is leaving Juventus at the end of his contract. “From our side there is no anxiety, we don’t have to do anything in a hasty way,”

“The hope is that Dybala can play with us.” he said.

Thomas Tuchel is keen on acquiring a new forward amidst Lukaku's bleak future at Stamford bridge and is monitoring English attacker Raheem Sterling, who has a year remaining on his deal at Manchester City.

Chelsea are also understood to be interested in RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku, although it will be hard to pull off a transfer with the Germans.

Tuchel is also understood to be interested in wantaway striker Robert Lewandowski but the Bayern Munich star wants to join Barcelona

Lukaku scored 64 goals in 95 games for Inter in two seasons, playing a major part in their 2020-21 Serie A title success, but has been unable to replicate his stellar form at Chelsea.

He started 16 Premier League games and ended the campaign with 15 goals from 44 appearances.
