Meanwhile, as the derby went on, the 'injured' Oshaba was in Kigali, Rwanda on the battlefield in an Old-students finale of the prestigious Ntare School.

Hours before the historical Kampala derby between Express FC and SC Villa on Saturday at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, winger Marvin Oshaba was listed among the players sidelined through injury.

A communication from Express stated that Oshaba had an ankle injury that would have him sit out the derby.

The Red Eagles would go on to lose 1-0 to Villa, courtesy of Charles Lwanga's first-half strike.

Meanwhile, as the derby went on, the 'injured' Oshaba was in Kigali, Rwanda on the battlefield in an Old-students finale of the prestigious Ntare School.

Oshaba played the full game as Nshera FC beat TY Omujuma via post-match penalties.

The attacker went ahead to score his spot-kick for Nshera as they were crowned champions of the 14th edition.

The event was also graced by Ntare Oldboy and Rwanda President Paul Kagame.

Meanwhile, Oshaba's situation has raised concerns about whether he indeed feigned the ankle injury, or rather a case of a lapse in communication from Express.

As for the latter, as they lost to Villa for a second time this season, they stayed eighth on the Uganda Premier League log with 29 points in 20 games.
