Ruben Amorim has cast doubt on Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United, stating he is focused on the club’s overall success rather than individual players.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has crushed the hearts of fans following his recent revelation concerning Marcus Rashford’s future at the club.

Marcus Rashford was loaned out to Aston Villa in February after he fell out of favour with Ruben Amorim and as things stand, he might not be going back to Manchester United, at least not anytime soon.

Ruben Amorim was vague about Rashford’s return to the club despite his impressive form in recent days. He got to play for England in their FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia and also scored his first goals on loan at Aston Villa at the FA Cup.

As things stand, Aston Villa have a chance to buy Marcus Rashford for £40m at the end of the season and Ruben Amorim does not want to be at the centre of the decision-making despite planning for Manchester United’s future.

Amorim added that at the moment, he is not at liberty to speak a lot about Marcus Rashford who is away on loan and under a whole new different management. He noted that he is only focused on making Manchester United shine and not a specific player.

“I’m planning for the future, but I don’t want to talk about the future in this moment. I know Rashford really well and everybody knows the talent he has. He’s a top player - if he wants,” he said as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“Rashford is not my player at the moment but every player that performs on loan is good news for our club. Like you said, we have a lot of games to play and I’m focused on my team and my players.”

Manchester United play in-form Nottingham Forest in their next match on Tuesday night at the City Ground and Ruben Amorim is focused on getting the maximum points.

He explained that they might be far from winning the Premier League title but climbing the table is a top priority. He is confident that the squad will show up, especially after a seven-game unbeaten run.

"Yes, you can say that I’m really confident. I feel the players are more confident and the energy is different, but this could change with results. We are focused on maintaining the energy,” Amorim said.

“We have worked on things to improve, we are in a different moment, more confident for these final two months of the season.

“I don’t know which place we are going to finish in, but we are looking up. We want to win games, we still have matches to finish in a different position, we are more confident, so we are looking up.”

Manchester United are currently 13th in the Premier League table with 37 points in 29 matches and are looking to maximise their confidence and mentality to add as many points in their remaining matches.
